This week's haiku news:

Suicide bombers.
Attack even more targets.
Good work George and Tone.

New 24hr rolling news blog from That Friday Thing. Go and read it NOW! Espescially the bit about the firing squad in Utah (everyone involved is mental) and the review of the Matrix-Reloaded. He really, really doesn't like it.

So, the war in Iraq was to safeguard the West? Well done.

How much would you pay to go to the cinema? 20 pence?. Cracking idea from Stelios, shame the big distributors are stopping him from getting the big films :-(

STOP PRESS!!!! People would rather have free music than pay for it. Well done BBC researchers. That licence fee is worth every penny.

Is the X-Box vs PS2 battle finally hotting up? Anything which increases competition in the consumer electrical goods market is good news. Market driven eveolution in terms of pricing and development.

Also, can cute characters save Nintendo? Short answer, no.

I have a PS2 (although I play on it less and less it seems, but if I was gonna buy another console, I guess it'd be X-Box, although the M$ "even though you own it you can't fiddle with it" stance really hacks me off. Nintendo just don't seem to be able to hack it.

Gord has some thoughts.

Fuck knows why that last section posted up three times. Blogger was being a bit wierd yesterday, I blame the pixies.

OK, stuff I'm looking forward too:

Seeing The Matrix Reloaded. I'm not queueing up for 20 hours or anything, but I quite fancy seeing it.
Tomb Raider, Angel of Darkness. I am looking forward to this, I've seen some of the screenies and it looks fab.
Half-Life 2, same as above, looks stunning and the reviews seem to be really good at the moment.
Ordering loads of geek t-shirts from thinkgeek, esp the m3g4tokyo stuff.
Planetside, Huuuge multiplayer online shooter.. Hmmm, sounds good.
Silent Hill 3, although I'll rent rather than buy it I think, in fact I'm not sure it makes this list anymore.
Some GTA:VC mods coming out for the PC. There were some done for GTA3 which were pretty cool.

LOL, oh Scaryduck makes me laugh.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones have registered a large number of web sites to avoid cyber-squatters holding them to ransom. Scaryduck Labs was surprised to see they missed www.rampant-publicity-whores.com and www.mental-welsh-tart.com. Schoolboy errors

OK, well the flat is getting sorted out a bit more now, they've agreed to replace all my floorboards and carpets, so i just need to wait for the nod to get stuff moved out ;-)

What else have I been up to? Not much, been playing CS on the Muppet's custom map server, www.muppet.info for more, er info.

Watched loads of films recently. Watch the Matrix last night on channel 5 (even though I've got it on DVD), watched the Indiana Jones films on the BBC over the last 2 sundays, classic 'retreat into childhood' stuff, followed by the first 2 Alien films. Aliens itself kinda sucked I thought, not aged well at all, unlike the original.

Stopped playing Eve-Online a while ago now. It was OK but I feel the developers made a slight style vs substance error. Don't get me wrong, it looks incredible, but the content wasn't enough to interest me for more than 2 months even when I hadn't had to pay for the game or pay £10 per month to play.
I'm sure you've heard that Half-life 2 is coming out in September (reminds me, must buy copy of Edge on way home) despite some well-informed people starting rumours along the lines of 'they'll *never* hit that date'. We'll see. Anyway, it looks good and has of course spawned lots of CS2 talk as well. CS1.6 is still in Beta(!!!) but the whole 1.6 vs CS:CZ vs CS2 debate is really really messy at the moment with none of the developers saying anything much. We shall wait and see.

Apart from that? Just reading loads of good stuff at the moment and catching up with m3g4tokyo.

Later.

K.
